At the core of our attuned, evolving curriculum are:

Waldorf-inspired language arts and arithmetic main lessons
-
Montessori-inspired lessons
-
Lessons that align with Common Core
-
Hawaiian cultural studies including ukulele

We are not limited by curricula, of course. Our world is our classroom!
Schedule & enrollment
Lessons and activities are held in a simple and natural, off-grid, one-room schoolhouse. Built in 2021, our hale is situated on private property in Haiku along the breathtaking North Shore coastline.
Additionally, we meet throughout the island for cultural studies with Kumu Haiku and other field trips.
Farm visits, beach-clean ups, forest and crater hikes, mountain biking, aquarium, whale watch, library visits and other seasonally-appropriate excursions open us to all Maui offers.
Our current group gathers at the schoolhouse Monday through Thursday 9:30am-1:30pm.
Part time enrollment is also possible, so please inquire for more details if one- two- or three-day options are more suitable for your family.
Our group
We recognize that the Maui lifestyle can be transitional and at times, even transient. Our offering is both responsive to that and structured, rhythmical. We strive to re-imagine and create a supportive, balanced flow between your home and your child’s experiential learning journey.
Naturally, our group configuration ebbs and flows too. At this time we serve grades one and two, ages 6-8. We are always open to chat about possibilities so please get in touch to discuss current details.
Community influence
Inspiring influencers bring their talents to our group for unique learning opportunities. Artist Lauren Shearer of Bespoke Lei guides lei making for May Day celebrations (left). Read about Hawaiian Cultural Studies with native island adventurer, Kumu Haiku.
